(from notifynyc) Notification issued 06-13-2023 at 9:30 PM. NYC Emergency Management will conduct a citywide test of the Wireless Emergency Alert System (WEA) tomorrow, 6/14, at approximately 4:00 PM. The WEA system is used to warn the public about dangerous weather, missing children, and other critical situations through alerts on cell phones. Only cell phones that have enabled the WEA test setting and are powered on will receive the test alert. Cell phones should only receive the message once.
